fromis_9 Returns This Summer With New Album After Contract With Ascend

K-pop’s beloved girl group fromis_9 is officially making a summer comeback.

On May 20, the group’s label Ascend announced, “fromis_9 will be releasing a new album in June. The record will embody the group’s unique charm in a special summer atmosphere. Please look forward to it.”

This marks their first musical release in approximately six months since their special single ‘from’ in December. It is also their first project under Ascend since the exclusive contract in January, indicating a new chapter in the group’s journey.

Last year, their single Supersonic achieved commercial success, maintaining strong positions on music charts long after its release. With their next comeback, fromis_9 aims to further cement themselves as the undisputed Summer Queen of K-pop.

Following the contract signing, the group revealed fresh profiles and mood films, signaling their official return to the spotlight. Members have stayed active individually as well: Lee Chaeyoung became a model for a fashion brand, Baek Jiheon made her acting debut in the music video for Park Jae Jung’s self-produced song, and Song Hayoung, along with Jiheon, lit up KBO League games for KIA Tigers and Doosan Bears as ceremonial pitcher and batter, earning praise as ‘Victory Fairies.’

Debuting in 2018, fromis_9 has delivered a series of hit tracks including LOVE BOMB, DM, and Stay This Way, consistently growing their fanbase. With Supersonic securing top spots on music shows, expectations are sky-high for what they’ll bring this summer season.
