Former CLC Member Elkie Hospitalized After Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Kpop star Elkie shares story of carbon monoxide poisoning urging fans to stay safe at home

Former CLC member Elkie recently revealed on her personal social media account that she was hospitalized following exposure to carbon monoxide. The alarming incident occurred when she woke up one morning with a headache and itching sensations. ‘Just as I was about to tell someone I needed medicine, everything went white and I collapsed,’ she wrote.

Elkie was rushed to the hospital via ambulance, where it was confirmed that she had been suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. ‘There was no smell, no smoke, no sound. I was just constantly tired and felt drowsy recently, but I had no idea,’ she stated.

The singer explained that upon further testing, her condition was confirmed as carbon monoxide poisoning, and she received high-pressure oxygen therapy. Elkie added, ‘Thankfully, I’m now in a stable condition. I received tremendous help from the medical team and others — thank you.’

Sharing her experience as a public warning, Elkie emphasized the dangers of carbon monoxide. ‘Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, which makes it incredibly dangerous. If your home uses a water heater, gas stove, or heater, please ensure proper ventilation and consider installing a carbon monoxide detector. I feel truly blessed to have survived,’ she shared.

Born in Hong Kong in 1998, Elkie joined CLC in 2016 and became a well-known figure in K-pop. She terminated her contract with Cube Entertainment and officially departed from the group in February 2021.
