Forestella’s Ko Woorim Returns from Military Duty, Shares Emotional Message
Ko Woorim, a member of the popular crossover group Forestella, has officially completed his mandatory military service. On June 21, he took to social media to announce his return to civilian life, posting, “Discharged. This is civilian Ko Woorim reporting back.”
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans, saying, “Thanks to everyone who supported me with love and encouragement, I was able to finish my military duty healthy and safe. May 2025 had felt so far away, but it came unexpectedly quickly. Although there were moments of frustration and difficulty, I found time for personal growth and valuable experiences that I could only encounter during this journey.”
Ko went on to thank his fellow Forestella members, adding, “I’m sincerely grateful to my team members who stayed strong and kept Forestella going during my 1 year and 6 months—or possibly longer—of service. Finally, all of our members have completed military service.”
Accompanying the post, Ko shared a touching photo of his military uniform embroidered with the name of his wife, Olympic gold medalist and former figure skater Yuna Kim. The tribute to Kim showcased both his pride in his service and his love for his spouse.
Ko Woorim and Yuna Kim were married in 2022. Ko enlisted in the military in 2023 and was officially discharged on June 19, 2024.
