Forestella’s Ko Woo-rim Returns from Military Service with New Look and Fan Livestream

Ko Woo-rim, a member of the Korean crossover vocal group Forestella, has officially completed his military service. On May 20, Ko’s official account shared the touching moment with fans, stating, “250519 WELCOME BACK WOORIM live broadcast ended! Sergeant Ko Woo-rim has been discharged as of May 19, 2025. Reporting back to Soopbyeols.”

The post included photos of Ko fresh out of the military, where he served with distinction in the Republic of Korea Army Band. He appeared leaner and more confident as he chatted with fans on a celebratory livestream titled “WELCOME BACK WOORIM” via Forestella’s official YouTube channel.

During the stream, fellow Forestella member Cho Mingyu commented humorously, “He’s lost weight and gained muscle — now he can fit a fist into his old pants.” Ko responded modestly, “I didn’t realize how much weight I’d lost until I tried on my old clothes — they felt much baggier.” He added, “I don’t have the kind of muscles worth showing off; I just lost some fat. I enjoy working out my shoulders and back.”

One of Korea’s beloved baritones, Ko Woo-rim has been widely recognized not only for his musical talent but also for his high-profile marriage to former figure skating champion Kim Yeon-a in October 2022. He began his military service in November 2023, serving in the military vocal unit within the national army band.

Now that Ko is officially discharged, Forestella has become a full “military-complete” group, with all four members having fulfilled their mandatory service. The group is revving up for new activities, kicking off with the recruitment of the 3rd generation of their official fan club through their fan platform, Fromm.

The return of Ko Woo-rim marks not just a personal milestone but also signals a new era for Forestella as a reunited quartet, ready to embrace their fans with renewed energy and passion.
