Flavors of You: Kang Ha-neul and Gominshi Stir Emotions in Episode 3
The Genie TV original drama Flavors of You continues to captivate viewers as episode 3 aired last night, revealing a gradual deepening of emotions between main characters Han Beom-woo (played by Kang Ha-neul) and Mo Yeon-joo (played by Gominshi).
According to Nielsen Korea, the show recorded a rating of 2.6% in the metropolitan area and 2.5% nationwide, showing a steady rise in popularity.
In this episode, Mo Yeon-joo embarks on a journey to find a missing supplier to secure essential ingredients for her cooking. Despite his reluctance, Han Beom-woo joins her on this unexpected mission. Their road trip is filled with quiet tension, broken by moments of tender attention as Han quietly offers his shoulder when Yeon-joo dozes off against the bus window.
As they arrive at the traditional home of the missing supplier, Han finds himself increasingly drawn to Yeon-joo. In one subtle scene, he gazes at her admiring a sparkling fermented stone jar and gently utters, “Beautiful.” Whether it referred to the jar or Yeon-joo remains ambiguous, adding to the episode’s lyrical tension.
As rain pours on the way back, Han grabs Yeon-joo’s hand and they run together—a moment charged with electricity. Later, Yeon-joo subtly pulls Han closer to shield him from rain, locking eyes in a gaze full of unspoken emotions.
Meanwhile, the subplot thickens as a mysterious fire disrupts operations at Jeong-je, leading the two protagonists along with Jin Myeong-sook (played by Kim Sin-rok) to suspect Shin Choon-seung (played by Yu Su-bin). Though he initially denies any wrongdoing, memories of a drunken night force him to confront the possibility and he kneels to apologize, begging for another chance.
With their business temporarily closed, the group spots an opportunity—a Food Truck Competition with a 5 million KRW prize. Hoping to use the winnings to rebuild, the team enters the contest, setting the stage for a culinary showdown.
Just as tensions ease, a mysterious lighter is found near the site of the fire, signaling deeper secrets yet to be uncovered.
