ENHYPEN Transforms Into Game-Inspired Vampire Test Subjects in New ‘ENGENE’ Concept
K-pop sensation ENHYPEN (Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-Ki) is captivating fans once again—this time with a haunting, game-inspired twist. On June 21 KST, the group revealed the final concept photos for their upcoming 6th mini-album ‘DESIRE : UNLEASH’ through their official social media accounts.
Labeling this final concept as the ‘ENGENE’ version, the band unveils a chilling narrative where each member plays the role of a mysterious vampire test subject. Set in a sterile laboratory with an eerie ambiance, the theme offers a fresh perspective designed exclusively for fans. The photos feature the members in fragmented scenes of suspense and ambiguity, evoking emotions of fear, curiosity, and excitement. Their cold expressions and striking visuals heighten the mystery, echoing the aesthetics of vintage horror video games.
The accompanying concept film is styled as an actual retro survival horror game. It follows a storyline in which a researcher discovers and attempts to escape with the vampire versions of ENHYPEN. From UI-style item selections to game control overlays, the video heightens the immersion, letting fans feel like they’re part of the action.
Adding to the interactive experience, Belift Lab announced a special web-based promotional game based on the ‘ENGENE’ concept, set to launch today at noon. Prior anticipation was fueled by teaser images shared the day before with the mysterious caption, ‘ENHYPEN ESCAPE.’
ENHYPEN has already garnered massive attention with their three previously released concepts: ‘MAKE,’ ‘YOU,’ and ‘MINE’, all centering around themes of desire and inner turmoil.
