Comedian Hong Yun-hwa Adds Hilarious Energy to ’24-Hour Fitness Club’

Hong Yunhwa shines in 24Hour Fitness Club bringing comedy and realism to KBS2 TV audiences

South Korean comedian Hong Yun-hwa is bringing her signature humor to television viewers in the latest KBS2 TV Wednesday-Thursday drama, ’24-Hour Fitness Club’. In the series, she plays Park Dul-hee, the youngest member of the energetic ‘Witch Trio’ at the gym ran by Do Hyun-jung (played by Lee Jun-young).

Park Dul-hee’s warm and cuddly charm, reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh, quickly establishes her as a fan favorite. Visiting the gym to shed belly fat, she forms a close-knit sisterhood with fellow gym-goers Im Sung-im (Park Sung-yeon) and Yoon Boo-young (Lee Ji-hye).

From her very first entrance—storming in with wet hair and an exaggerated groan about the water being cut off—Hong Yun-hwa injects comedy and authenticity into every scene. When grumbling to Hyun-jung about not having time to rinse off soap properly, or teasing newcomer Lee Mi-ran (Jung Eun-ji) with lovable pettiness, her comedic timing shines through.

The actress continues to grab viewers’ attention with her realistic portrayal, especially during snack-fueled ‘real moments’. Park Dul-hee unapologetically devours sweet pumpkin punch and sweet potatoes, inciting viewers’ late-night cravings. In one standout scene, she becomes overwhelmed during Hyun-jung’s intense Zumba class, only to cave in and order black bean noodles. Her reaction to rival gym owner Roy’s (Kim Kwon) luxury towel scent—“Even the towels smell amazing!”—had fans in stitches.

Hong Yun-hwa has proven to be a scene-stealer with her infectious positivity and powerful screen presence. Viewer reactions post-broadcast were filled with praise: “She’s so in sync with her character, it feels real,” “Dul-hee makes me laugh every episode,” and “I relate to her so much—it’s healing to watch.”

’24-Hour Fitness Club’ airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 PM (KST) on KBS2 TV.
