BTS’s V Hits 500 Million Streams on Spotify with ‘FRI(END)S’

BTS member V reaches 500 million Spotify streams for his hit solo song FRIENDS showcasing global popularity

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) member V has reached a new milestone in his solo career with his digital single ‘FRI(END)S’ surpassing 500 million streams on Spotify, according to data released on the 17th.

As of March 15, the sultry pop track has achieved over half a billion plays, making it V’s second solo song to cross the remarkable 500 million mark on the global music streaming platform. ‘FRI(END)S’ delves into the emotional journey of moving beyond the boundaries of friendship into deeper romantic territory, combining sentimental lyrics with V’s velvety vocals.

Despite minimal promotional activities since its release in March last year, ‘FRI(END)S’ saw significant chart success. It secured the No. 65 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, ranked No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart, No. 3 on Global (excluding the U.S.), and No. 5 on the Global 200. These unprecedented accomplishments underscore V’s massive global impact.

In the UK, the track reached No. 13 on the Official Singles Top 100, while topping the Official Singles Downloads chart and coming in at No. 2 in Official Singles Sales. Such broad international success speaks to the artist’s undeniable global reach and dedicated fanbase.

V now boasts a total of 12 solo songs with over 100 million streams, including ‘Love Me Again’, which alone has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. This stream of success reaffirms his position as a leading figure in global pop and K-pop crossovers.

He continues to captivate listeners worldwide with his signature sound that blends emotion, storytelling, and musical sophistication.
