BTS’s RM and V Reflect on Military Discharge and Future Plans
BTS Members Share Heartfelt Experiences and Upcoming Projects Post-Discharge
RM and V’s Reflections on Their Military Discharge
On October 10, BTS members RM and V conducted a live broadcast on the fan communication platform Weverse, sharing their reflections and experiences upon completing their military service. They warmly introduced themselves with humor as “Just-discharged Kim Taehyung and Kim Namjoon,” and expressed mutual support, acknowledging each other’s efforts during this period.
Emotional Resilience and Reflections
RM, who served in the Army’s 15th Division Band, recounted his journey of 548 days in service, and shared an emotional moment of reflection, stating, “I came back after completing my 548-day military service. During my last break, every day felt like a climb up stairs without lunch. Just last night at 2 AM, I found myself in tears, overwhelmed by the mix of emotions and memories.” He continued, highlighting the emotional growth he experienced, likening it to his early days living with his fellow trainees. “Revisiting the days with 30 roommates at our Nonhyeon-dong dorm when I was 17 felt surreal now that I’m 30. This has been an opportunity to restart and learn from those around me, including fellow member J-Hope and Jin.”
V’s Journey Inside the Army
V, who served with the Corps Special Operations Unit, also reflected on his time in the military, sharing, “When seniors left, I didn’t understand their tears, yet now I find myself unable to cry on my discharge day. Spending 1.5 years with juniors, dreaming and planning together enriched the experience, making me genuinely invested in their dreams and aspirations.”
BTS Unity and Future Plans
Their broadcast was further highlighted by Jin’s enthusiastic support for their discharge. “Let’s work hard as a group of four. I’m counting on you,” Jin cheered, to which V amusingly replied, “You can rest easy now. We’ll work even harder to keep up the momentum.”
RM hinted at their forthcoming projects, reassuring fans, “While there might not be immediate results, we have plans underway. Our last performance was in October 2022, almost three years ago. This break allowed for much-needed recharging, promising exciting, creative outcomes to share.”
V also expressed gratitude towards the fans, known as “ARMY“, mentioning, “It’s amazing how patiently our fans waited during our 1.5-year absence. Their warm reception upon our discharge is deeply appreciated.”
Awaiting Future Reunions
The group is set to gradually reunite as Jungkook and Jimin also conclude their service on October 11, followed by Suga‘s release from alternative service on the 21st. As BTS draws closer to reuniting, fans eagerly anticipate the end of their military hiatus and the exciting new phase for the band.
