BTS’s Jin Sells Out Solo Fan Concert Amid Overwhelming Demand, Comforts Fans Who Missed Tickets
Global superstar Jin of Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) has once again proven his overwhelming popularity by selling out his first-ever solo fan concert in Korea—even before the official ticket release concluded. On June 28–29, Jin will kick off his solo fan concert world tour titled #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR at the Goyang Stadium Sub Stadium.
On April 29, the general ticketing opened via Interpark Ticket, and despite a staggering 99% reservation rate, records show wait lines climbed to over 84,260 single-user log-ins, thanks to the one-person-one-login system. Such demand led many fans to miss ticketing altogether, leaving them devastated.
Jin personally took to Weverse, the BTS fan community platform, to read fan comments and respond with heartfelt messages. He humbly reacted to massive ticket line screenshots by saying, “Whoa, I didn’t know Seokjinie was this popular,” showcasing his modesty despite his global fame.
Responding to a fan’s wish for a larger venue next time, Jin revealed, “Honestly, I didn’t plan this and booked everything on a whim… That’s why there were no big venues available. Managed to secure this barely.” His spontaneous decision only underscores the pure intention behind organizing the concert—just to connect with fans who had been earnestly requesting it.
When fans lamented the inability to see any available seats (“only greyed ones”), Jin gently responded, “Among the places available, this is the biggest I could find.” When another fan asked him to hold “앙콘” (a Korean slang word for encore concerts) in a bigger venue, Jin amusingly replied, “What’s 앙콘?” sparking laughs over his confusion, later clarifying he thought it was “앵콘 (encore concert).”
Many fans expressed their hope for an added encore show. Jin responded with, “There isn’t one… I’m sorry,” showing genuine regret toward fans who couldn’t secure tickets. Notably, Jin’s fan concert ranked No.1 in all ticketing platforms, including Interpark, proving his immense popularity as a solo performer.
His stardom has risen further through recent achievements: a breakout appearance in the Netflix Original variety show ‘대환장 기안장’ where he topped charts for non-drama TV personalities, and his collaboration with Coldplay during the ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour in Korea, which drew international acclaim.
Jin is set to release his second solo mini album ‘Echo’ on May 16 at 1 PM KST. His solo fan concert tour will commence on June 28 in Korea and proceed across Chiba and Osaka in Japan; Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, and Newark in the USA; London, UK; and Amsterdam, Netherlands. A total of 18 performances across 9 cities are scheduled.
Most notably, Jin will become the first solo K-pop artist to hold a solo concert at the O2 Arena in London, a feat that cements his legacy in global music history.
