BTS’s Jimin Sets Historic Spotify Korea Chart Record with ‘Who’
Jimin of BTS continues to make history in the global music scene. According to the latest update from Spotify, Jimin has topped Korea’s Daily Top Songs chart for the 600th time, solidifying his position as a leading solo artist.
The milestone marks the first ever and only instance of a solo artist reaching 600 No.1s on Spotify Korea. His recent title track ‘Who’ from his second solo album MUSE claimed the top spot on May 10, maintaining an unbroken streak of 296 consecutive days at No.1.
‘Who’ reached No.1 upon release and has remained unbeaten despite no ongoing promotions, showcasing its incredible longevity and appeal.
Previously, Jimin’s debut solo album FACE title track ‘Like Crazy’ held No.1 for a total of 268 days on the same chart. The artist also achieved No.1 rankings with other songs including ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, ‘Like Crazy (English Version)’, and ‘Angel Pt.1’, bringing his career total to 600 days at No.1 across five songs.
To put this into perspective, this achievement quadruples the total No.1s by BTS as a group (152), emphasizing Jimin’s overwhelming chart dominance as a solo performer.
Additionally, on May 11, Jimin topped Spotify Korea’s Daily Top Artist chart for the 650th time, making another unmatched record among Korean artists. His first appearance on the chart dates back to the release of ‘With You’, an OST from TV drama ‘Our Blues’, on April 24, 2022. Since then, he has charted for 1009 days, with 650 of them at No.1.
Moreover, ‘Who’ has become the most-streamed song on Spotify Korea, surpassing 50 million streams in March—another first on the platform—and is currently at over 57 million.
Jimin’s consistent performance not only showcases his global appeal but also sets a new standard for excellence among K-pop solo artists.
