BTS Members RM and V Celebrate Military Discharge with Tearful Reunion
As RM and V complete their service, full BTS comeback draws nearer.
BTS’s RM and V Return from Military Service
On June 10, RM (Kim Namjoon) and V (Kim Taehyung) of BTS celebrated their discharge from the military, marking a significant step towards a full BTS reunion. These beloved idols met with their dedicated fanbase, known as ARMY, at a specially arranged event held at a sports park in Chuncheon, as the potential crowding near military bases raised safety concerns.
Honoring Their Service
Both RM and V served diligently for 18 months, with RM in the Army’s 15th Infantry Division’s musical unit, and V with the Army’s 2nd Corps Military Police Special Task Force. RM voiced pride in serving his country, acknowledging the improved conditions but also the challenges faced later in his career. “I have utmost respect for those who protected our country while we pursued our dreams,” he noted with gratitude.
A Special Message to Fans
Addressing their fans, V expressed, “Serving has reshaped my body and soul. I can’t wait to return to performing for our ARMY. Please wait just a little longer while we prepare to return stronger.”
The global appeal of BTS was evident as fans flew in from regions like Japan, the Philippines, Brazil, and beyond, brimming with excitement for RM and V’s return.
RM showcased his musical talents yet again with a saxophone performance, echoing his celebration for Jin’s discharge last year.
Countdown to BTS’s Full Comeback
Scheduled military discharges among the BTS members will conclude this month. Jin and J-Hope, who were discharged last year, have pursued successful solo careers. Jimin and Jungkook will equally complete their service on June 11, and Suga is set for release on June 21, heralding a complete return of the group’s seven members to civilian life.
The anticipation for their full comeback has heightened, supported by fans’ hope that they might appear at significant upcoming events, like the 2025 BTS Festa or J-Hope’s solo tour finale.
The Global Impact of BTS
Since their 2013 debut, BTS has risen to global stardom, topping the charts of Billboard, the UK Official Charts, and Japan’s Oricon, and winning prestigious American music awards. Their influence extends globally, setting benchmarks for K-Pop acts.
Looking Forward to 2025
Hybe, along with BigHit Music, anticipates BTS’s comprehensive group activities among future collaborations, aiming for a spectacular 2025 comeback while strengthening BTS’s global standing.
For now, fans can expect diverse solo ventures and anniversary celebrations, continuing to support and celebrate BTS’s relentless journey as cultural icons.
