A New Chapter Begins for RM and V After Military Service

BTS Members Celebrate Return from Military Service

The highly anticipated event finally occurred as BTS members RM and V met with media and fans in Chuncheon, marking their official military discharge. The duo completed their service in the Korean Army, where RM served in the 15th Division Band and V in the 2nd Army Corps Military Police Special Task Force.

Reflecting on his military experience, RM stated, “Greetings everyone. I’m Sergeant Kim Nam-joon of the 15th Division Band. It feels surreal to finally be discharged. Surprisingly, we’ve had one of the shortest military services, and conditions have improved a lot. Although there were challenging times, I’ve learned to appreciate those who protected the country in our stead while we pursued our activities.”

Closer Bonds and Shared Gratitude

Throughout his service, RM developed a deeper bond with family and friends, particularly those who had previously served. He expressed his gratitude, “It was a meaningful time to connect with those who had been in the military. My father and old friends became closer during this time. I want to thank all the ARMY for their patience. Let’s emerge healthy and strong into society as the BTS RM you know.”

Celebration of Return with Global Fans

HYBE commemorated RM and V’s return by adorning their headquarters in Seoul with BTS and ARMY logos and the message “WE ARE BACK,” maintaining the decor until the 29th. This initiative is part of the annual BTS FESTA, celebrating the group’s debut on June 13.

Moreover, an offline festival will be held at Gyeonggi-do’s KINTEX on June 13 and 14, enhancing the excitement for fans around the globe.

As RM and V settle back, fellow members Jimin and Jungkook will conclude their service on June 11, while Suga, after beginning his alternative service on September 22, 2023, will be discharged by the 21st.

Stay tuned as BTS gears up for new ventures post-military service.
