BTS’ Jin Achieves Career Milestone with ‘Echo’ on Billboard 200
Jin, a member of the chart-topping K-pop group BTS, has once again proven his global stardom. According to an official article published by Billboard on May 26 (KST), Jin’s second mini-album ‘Echo’ debuted at No. 3 on the main album chart, the Billboard 200 for the week of May 31. This achievement marks the highest-ever chart position for Jin as a solo artist, surpassing his previous record when his earlier release, ‘Happy’ (November 2024), peaked at No. 4.
‘Echo’ is a versatile album that explores the theme of life’s pivotal moments spreading like an ‘echo’. Jin touches on universal stories and emotions, delivering them through his unique perspective and drawing deep empathy from music fans worldwide.
The seven-track album spans a variety of genres—including pop-punk, country rock, Brit rock, J-rock, alternative rock, and ballad pop. Critics have praised Jin for his delicate emotive sensibilities and expanding vocal range, noting his ability to convey different moods tailored to each track.
The global impact of ‘Echo’ was also seen in the UK, where the album entered the Official Albums Chart Top 100 at No. 63 (May 23–29). This marks the first time Jin’s solo work has entered both the Billboard 200 and the Official Albums Chart Top 100—widely considered the world’s two premier album charts.
The album’s popularity is further amplified by the title track ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’, which peaked at No. 2 on Spotify’s ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart (May 24), and at No. 58 on the UK ‘Official Singles Chart Top 100’. The song also claimed No. 1 on the singles download, singles sales, and physical singles sub-charts in the UK.
Jin is set to embark on his first-ever solo fan concert tour, named #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR, starting June 28-29 at Goyang Sports Complex Auxiliary Stadium, Korea. He will connect with ARMY (BTS fandom) across 18 shows in 9 cities worldwide, including Chiba and Osaka (Japan); Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, Newark (USA); London (UK); and Amsterdam (Netherlands).
Alongside Jin’s solo accomplishments, BTS as a group has made history by topping the Billboard 200 with six albums: ‘LOVE YOURSELF: Tear’, ‘LOVE YOURSELF: Answer’, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA’, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’, ‘BE’, and ‘Proof’.
