The Rising Power of BOYNEXTDOOR in Japan’s Music Scene
BOYNEXTDOOR: Dominating the Japanese Music Scene
In just a few years, the boy group BOYNEXTDOOR (Sung-ho, Liu, Myung Jae-hyun, Tae-san, Lee Han, Un-hak) has skyrocketed to fame, showcasing an impressive ticket-selling power. Recently, they wowed fans by selling out all shows of their ‘BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR ‘KNOCK ON Vol.1’ ENCORE IN JAPAN’, held from October 28 to 30 at Tokyo’s Keio Arena.
Record-Breaking Tours and Achievements
Earlier this year, BOYNEXTDOOR had their first solo tour in Japan, where they managed to sell out all of their scheduled performances across different cities, including Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka, Miyagi, Fukuoka, and Kanagawa. This achievement reaffirmed their explosive popularity in Japan.
Their influence in Japan continued with the release of their mini 4th album, No Genre, which surpassed 100,000 shipments and received the Gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of Japan as of May 2025. This success was mirrored by topping the Oricon weekly album and combined album rankings during the week of May 12 to 18, following their mini 2nd and 3rd albums, HOW? and 19.99, marking their third consecutive Oricon weekly chart double win.
Stepping Stones to Global Stardom
In addition to their success on the Oricon charts, BOYNEXTDOOR dominated Billboard Japan’s Top Album Sales and Hot Albums charts. After concluding their encore performances in Japan, the group has planned a grand finale to their tour at Seoul’s KSPO Dome from November 25 to 27.
The group’s undeniable success and their continually growing fanbase mark them as a formidable force in the international music scene, as they gear up to solidify their position as the ‘next-generation concert powerhouse’. Fans eagerly await the upcoming performances, expecting nothing short of spectacular from these talented young artists.
