BoA to Headline Tribute Stage at 2025 Weverse Con Festival, Celebrating 25 Years in K-Pop

BoA headlines Tribute Stage during 2025 Weverse Con Festival marking her KPop legacy

K-Pop legend BoA is set to headline the Tribute Stage at the upcoming 2025 Weverse Con Festival (WeConFest), marking her 25th debut anniversary and celebrating her journey with fans. Scheduled for May 31st and June 1st, the event will take place at the Incheon Inspire Arena in South Korea.

The Tribute Stage, a significant segment of WeConFest, honors artists whose influence has defined the Korean music landscape. In past years, legends such as Shin Hae-chul, Seo Taiji, Uhm Jung-hwa, and Park Jin-young have received this homage—this year, the baton passes to BoA.

Organizers of the festival recognized BoA as a symbolic artist in Korean music history, stating, “BoA proved the global potential of K-Pop when the term itself was virtually unknown. Her domination of Japan’s Oricon charts signaled the genre’s expansion to global markets.”

Reflecting on this role, BoA said, “I am honored to be part of the Tribute Stage, a signature element of WeConFest. It is deeply meaningful to share this milestone year with fans who have supported me for 25 years.”

BoA emphasized the cultural transformation K-Pop has undergone, noting, “K-Pop now has its own categories in global charts—it’s grown beyond music into a global culture.”

With WeConFest showcasing artists across generations, BoA expressed excitement at sharing the stage with younger talents she’s influenced. “Hearing that junior artists admire or cover my songs has always made me proud. Seeing it live this time adds a new level of excitement,” she added.

BoA also highlighted the musical experience fans can expect: “As it’s a festival, I’ll be performing well-loved tracks with a dynamic live band. I encourage fans to sing along and enjoy the energy together.”

The 2025 Weverse Con Festival aims to unite global fans across genres and eras through a unique musical celebration. This year’s expanded lineup features 27 acts spanning K-Pop, bands, and musical theater, with thrilling additions like nighttime performances at Weverse Park.

Meanwhile, BoA remains in the public eye following a controversy in April involving a live drinking broadcast with host Jeon Hyun-moo that included offhand remarks about comedian Park Na-rae. The incident resulted in public backlash and a formal apology from BoA.

Despite challenges, BoA’s presence at this year’s WeConFest promises a heartfelt celebration, cementing her legacy as a trailblazing figure who helped shape the global face of K-Pop.
