Behind the Scenes Bond: Park Seo-jin’s Humble Roots Shared with Trot Singer Jin Hae-sung

Park Seo jin and Jin Hae sung reunite and share untold struggles on Mr House Husband Season 2

On the upcoming June 3rd (Saturday) broadcast of KBS 2TV’s Mr. House Husband Season 2, viewers can expect an emotional and heartwarming segment as popular trot singer Park Seo-jin reveals a previously undisclosed chapter of his past—a close-knit cohabitation with fellow trot artist Jin Hae-sung, during their struggling days.

The episode opens with Park inviting his former roommate to his Incheon home. Jin Hae-sung—his companion through 14 years of friendship and shared hardships—arrives, and the two quickly fall into nostalgic banter. Park affectionately refers to Jin Hae-sung and idol trainee Hyo-jung as “Jin-ddung” and “Sam-ddung,” showcasing their tight bond with playful nicknames and inside jokes.

Park and Jin share tales of their youth spent together in a cramped 14-pyeong (approximately 500-square-foot) apartment. Recalling those hard times, Jin opens up: “We didn’t even have air conditioning. Seo-jin suggested living together—it felt like finding an oasis in the desert.” The two reflect on being told by entertainment industry seniors that they would “never succeed,” shining light on the resilience required to climb the ladder in Korea’s trot scene.

The episode further unfolds with Park taking Jin Hae-sung and Hyo-jung on a full course food escapade. Their comedic chemistry is highlighted during discussions on food: “Who decided a serving of pork belly is 150g?”, “A lunchbox should be at least double that!”, and “Rice with fried chicken is a must!” leaving viewers in stitches. Park, however, good-naturedly admits feeling left out of their foodie banter.

Later, the trio travels to Ganghwa Island, where they meet legendary chef Shin Gye-sook, a 38-year veteran of Chinese cuisine and a die-hard Seo-jin fan. She prepares unreleased signature dishes like ‘Flower Tangsuyuk’ and ‘Jjababmyeon’ ahead of their official debut, treating the hosts to an exclusive culinary experience. Her signature Dongpayuk, famously tender and melt-in-your-mouth, stuns the trio with its depth of flavor.

This heartfelt episode will air June 3rd at 9:20 PM KST on KBS 2TV’s Mr. House Husband Season 2, offering fans not just laughs but a meaningful glimpse into enduring friendship, gratitude, and humility behind stardom.
