In the previous episode, Som-i’s (played by Han Ji-min) true identity was revealed as the embodiment of Lee Hae-sook’s repressed memories and unprocessed grief. Her act of self-forgiveness in the metaphorical ‘gray hell’ allowed Som-i to fade away, giving Hae-sook emotional closure.
