BABYMONSTER Ignites Tokyo With Historic K-pop Appearance at Ginza Sony Park
Rising K-pop sensation BABYMONSTER continues their global ascent with a groundbreaking appearance at the ‘Sony Park展 2025’ in Tokyo. As the only K-pop act featured in the latest Part 2 installment of the exhibition, the YG Entertainment girl group reaffirms their cross-cultural impact by sharing the stage with prominent Japanese artists such as hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts and musician-composer Kensuke Ushio.
The event, which runs through June 22 at Ginza Sony Park, follows the momentum of BABYMONSTER’s record-breaking Japanese tour, which drew 150,000 fans—a remarkable feat for a rookie act. Their inclusion highlights the immense influence of the group in Japan and the wider Asian entertainment sphere.
With over 9.1 million YouTube subscribers worldwide, BABYMONSTER curates an interactive gaming-themed installation centered around the idea that “games are a meeting ground.” At their immersive booth, fans can experience arcade and hunting-style games inspired by the group’s popular tracks ‘SHEESH’ and ‘DRIP’. The attraction also showcases 3D digital dance challenges using Sony’s cutting-edge motion capture technology, giving attendees an unexpectedly futuristic encounter with the K-pop group’s visual identity.
Adding to the excitement, collaborative merchandise including T-shirts, stickers, and tote bags featuring BABYMONSTER’s IP have instantly become sought-after items among fans.
“BABYMONSTER transcends language and cultural barriers, connecting fans globally,” a representative from Ginza Sony Park noted. “Games and entertainment, both being universal avenues for joy and community, made them the ideal partner for this showcase.”
This exhibition caps off the group’s sold-out ‘2025 BABYMONSTER 1st WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN’, which initially planned for 100,000 attendees but quickly expanded due to overwhelming demand. The success was accompanied by countless pop-up collaborations and brand activations across Japan, emphasizing their dominance in local markets.
Up next, BABYMONSTER will continue their world tour through cities including Singapore, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei, before heading to North America for shows in Toronto, Rosemont, Atlanta, Fort Worth, Oakland, and Seattle later this year.
