aespa’s ‘Supernova’ Shines Bright at Music Awards Japan 2025
K-pop powerhouse aespa once again proved their global influence as their mega-hit song ‘Supernova’ earned the prestigious ‘Best Song Asia’ award at the Music Awards Japan 2025, held in Kyoto on June 21–22.
The Music Awards Japan is one of the most prestigious music ceremonies in Japan, co-hosted by five major local music industry organizations and governmental bodies. Winners are selected through comprehensive music data from Oricon, Billboard Japan, GfK Japan, Luminate, USEN, and Daiichi Kosho among others, backed by professional voting panels.
This latest win adds to aespa’s growing list of accolades in Japan. Previously, the group secured two major awards at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards and became the first-ever female artist to win four categories at MTV’s Video Music Awards Japan (VMAJ). These achievements further solidify their dominance and popularity in the Japanese music industry.
aespa’s influence in Japan isn’t limited to awards. Last August, the group mesmerized over 94,000 fans with their second dome performance, ‘Sync Parallel Line – In Tokyo Dome – Special Edition’. This showcased their ability to effortlessly sell out large-scale venues and deliver unforgettable live performances.
Continuing their momentum, the group will host their first official Japanese fan meeting, ‘My-J Presents aespa Japan Fan Meeting 2025 To My World’, scheduled for June 24–25 at the Pia Arena MM. This marks another milestone for the band as they deepen connections with their rapidly growing fanbase in Japan.
With multiple awards and sold-out performances under their belt, aespa is carving their legacy not only as Korea’s leading girl group but as a true international phenomenon.
