Actress Dives into First-Ever Romantic Comedy with ‘The Taste of You’
KT Genie TV is set to spice up your screen this spring with ‘The Taste of You’—a romantic comedy that blends emotional growth with flavorful storytelling. Scheduled to premiere on ENA on May 12 at 10 PM KST, the series will be available for streaming via Genie TV and Genie TV Mobile immediately after broadcast.
The original drama follows the fiery yet tender romance between Han Beom-woo (played by Kang Ha-neul), an heir to a food conglomerate turned ‘recipe hunter’, and Mo Yeon-joo, a strong-willed chef who defies convention by running a single-table private dining restaurant in Jeonju. As he seeks culinary assets to inherit his family business, their worlds clash—and chemistry boils over.
This project marks lead actress Go Min-si’s first foray into romantic comedy, and it’s already generating buzz for the on-screen chemistry she shares with Kang Ha-neul. “Receiving the script felt like a birthday gift last year,” she shared. “I’m thrilled to greet viewers with such warmth in the spring.”
Portraying Mo Yeon-joo, Go was attracted to the role’s emotional layers—“a stubborn, passionate chef with her own clear culinary philosophy, someone rough on the edges yet deeply empathetic.” She charmingly likened her character to a classic gimbap, saying, “Though flashy gimbap can be delicious, the basic form is what you can enjoy over time. Being faithful to the basics is what makes things timeless.”
Go Min-si also delved deep into character prep. Not only did she rigorously train for kitchen scenes, but she also undertook dialect lessons to authentically portray regional speech from Jeonju. “From knife skills to learning from actual chefs on set, I wanted to bring real-life flavor to the screen.”
She hopes the audience finds comfort in the show’s light-hearted narrative: “When you’re feeling worn out, I want this drama to feel like a hearty meal—simple yet satisfying. Something that fills your heart while making you laugh.”
Don’t miss the sweet, savory romance of ‘The Taste of You’—a feel-good drama that proves the best love stories are made from the most basic ingredients.
