Minhee Jung Denies Involvement in Son Heung-min Blackmail Scandal

Musical actress Minhee Jung clarifies she is not involved in Son Heung-min blackmail case

South Korean musical actress Minhee Jung has publicly denied rumors linking her to the recent blackmail scandal involving football star Son Heung-min. On June 23, Minhee Jung took to her social media to address a wave of messages and accusations, posting screenshots of direct messages and comments. She strongly asserted, “That’s not me. Who is it, really? Stop contacting, following, and commenting.”

The controversy erupted after reports surfaced that an individual had fraudulently claimed to be pregnant with Son Heung-min’s child and attempted to extort money from him. A woman in her 20s, referred to as Ms. A, is accused of sending an ultrasound image in June last year and demanding approximately 300 million KRW (around 218,000 USD) under threat of exposing the alleged pregnancy. A man in his 40s, Mr. B, is accused of attempting to extort a further 70 million KRW (about 51,000 USD) from Son’s side this March by threatening media exposure.

On June 17, the court issued an arrest warrant, citing concerns about evidence tampering and flight risk. The case remains under investigation, but the attention led some online users to mistakenly associate Minhee Jung with the scandal – a claim she categorically denies.

Minhee Jung made her debut in the 2016 musical Aida and remains an active performer in both theater and television. Most recently, she appeared on the popular tvN show Sisters’ Sanji Journey, where she coached Yeom Jeong-ah, Lim Ji-yeon, and Park Jun-myeon on the dance for Blackpink Jennie’s track “Like Jennie.”
