NEWBEAT Makes Explosive Debut at KCON JAPAN 2025 with High-Energy Performances
Rising K-pop boy group NEWBEAT (박민석, 홍민성, 전여여정, 최서현, 김태양, 조윤후, 김리우) made a splash at KCON JAPAN 2025, delivering powerful performances and solidifying their name as the next big thing in K-pop. The group’s Showcase and Pre-show stages were officially released through KCON’s YouTube channel on May 19 and May 23, respectively.
NEWBEAT kicked off their Showcase with charisma, dressed in bold hip-hop-inspired outfits that embodied the essence of their debut album, RAW AND RAD. Performing their title track Flip the Coin and the pre-release song JeLLo (힘숨찐), the members displayed striking stage presence and edgy choreography.
In the Pre-show, the group switched things up with a Y2K school-uniform inspired street look, once again performing Flip the Coin and JeLLo with undeniable groove. Backed by 12 dancers, NEWBEAT lit up the stage with high-voltage energy that resonated with fans, staking their claim as a force in the fifth generation of K-pop idols.
The boys officially debuted in March with their full-length album RAW AND RAD. Their launch included a daring debut showcase Drop the NEWBEAT on Mnet, followed by a fan showcase titled 힘숨찐 해부실 on SBS. Unlike typical rookie debuts, NEWBEAT released a full studio album with two pre-release singles, all accompanied by visually compelling music videos lauded by fans and critics alike.
Keeping momentum alive, NEWBEAT launched their first YouTube reality series NEWBIETRAP on June 2. The first episode followed members as they challenged themselves to complete a 100km endurance mission—an adventure resonating strongly with fans for its raw emotion and camaraderie.
NEWBEAT’s schedule hasn’t slowed down; they’ve already performed at the 2025 LOVESOME Festival, the opening Seoul Spring Festa’s Wonder Show, and now, KCON JAPAN 2025. Each appearance continues to increase anticipation and expand their global fanbase.
