RIIZE Becomes First K-Pop Boy Group to Grace DORK Magazine Cover
K-pop boy group RIIZE has made history by becoming the first K-pop boy band to be featured on the cover of the June issue of DORK, a prominent UK-based music magazine. The print version of the issue is set to be released on June 6, with an online pre-release published via DORK’s official website on May 19.
DORK shines a spotlight on RIIZE’s bold journey, stating: “From the very beginning, RIIZE has built a solid foundation, showcasing continuous growth and evolution. Poised for a new chapter in their career come 2025, the group brings together Gen Z’s unfiltered energy with a nostalgic K-pop vibe and relatable emotional resonance. RIIZE is stepping forward as the next leaders of K-pop. Their odyssey is just beginning.”
The cover story explores the group’s artistic vision and evolution, with particular praise for the group’s newly released debut studio album. The album’s lead track, ‘Fly Up’, was introduced as a blend of energetic retro sounds that fits well within the musical aesthetic RIIZE has tirelessly developed so far.
Their music video for ‘Fly Up’ was also commended. DORK describes it as a “mega-scale project” shot in a single take featuring more than 30 dancers in Los Angeles, reflecting both the ambition and the confident messaging the group aims to deliver.
In their interview, RIIZE emphasized their message of hope and determination. “With our first full-length album ODYSSEY, we want to capture all the experiences we’ve been through so far and share our aspirations for the future. Each of us feels confident in this album and we hope it encourages listeners to embark on their own odyssey.”
In addition to their growing international presence, RIIZE will appear on KBS2TV’s Music Bank this week, performing both their title track ‘Fly Up’ and the B-side song ‘Bag Bad Back.’
