Starship’s Kim Ji-yeon Shines on Set of ‘The Haunted Palace’

Kim Ji-yeon is winning hearts both on-screen and off in SBS’s hit Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace. The Starship Entertainment actress, who plays ‘Yeori’—the only granddaughter of a renowned shaman and a master of spiritual glasses—recently stole the spotlight with her behind-the-scenes charm.

On March 23, her agency King Kong by Starship released a series of candid photos taken on the set. In the photos, Kim flashes playful eyes at the camera while bundled up in winter gear, including earmuffs and hot packs, proving her adorable charisma even during intense filming conditions.

One standout image captures Kim Ji-yeon with co-star Yook Sung-jae (playing Yoon-gap/Kang Cheol-i) carefully monitoring a take. The two actors reportedly had detailed discussions over each scene, working hard to bring out the romantic tension that fans have affectionately dubbed the ‘Kang-Yeol Couple.’

Kim’s dedication to her role has contributed to the series’ engaging narrative. As Yeori, she dives into an emotional journey uncovering the truth behind her grandmother Neopdeok’s (played by Gil Hae-yeon) death, suspected to involve the mysterious Palcheokgui. Yeori’s budding feelings for Kang Cheol-i are portrayed with an openhearted sincerity that’s drawing fan acclaim.

As the story takes a dramatic turn with Yeori falling into danger due to Pungsan (played by Kim Sang-ho), anticipation is building for how Kim Ji-yeon’s character will evolve in the coming episodes.

The Haunted Palace also stars Kim Ji-hoon and airs its 11th episode tonight at 10 PM KST on SBS.
