K-R&B Star Dane Reimagines Giveon’s Classic in Grammy’s Official Series

Dane reinterprets Giveons Heartbreak Anniversary on Grammys official ReImagined performance series

Korean R&B rising star Dane has taken a bold step onto the global stage with his appearance on the Grammy’s official YouTube series, ReImagined. As a part of his label Nostalgiaa Records, Dane reinterpreted Giveon’s hit track Heartbreak Anniversary with his signature emotional vocals and minimalist arrangement, introducing a fresh sensibility to a modern classic.

Premiering globally at 10 AM PST on May 20 via the Recording Academy / GRAMMYs official YouTube channel, the performance marks an unprecedented moment for a Korean artist. ReImagined serves as a unique platform where emerging artists re-envision Grammy-winning or nominated songs, with a full production curated directly by the Recording Academy.

Dane’s rendition breathes new life into the track, channeling the lyrical warmth and vulnerability of the original through the voice of a new generation. Music critics have praised his ability to articulate themes of love and loss in a way that resonates intimately with today’s audiences.

After debuting in early 2024 with the breakout single Selfie, which explored the emotional remnants of a breakup, Dane continued building his narrative with the follow-up single She Said. The song delicately captured the pain and healing process of separation, earning widespread recognition on both domestic and international playlists and music curation channels.

The Seoul-based label Nostalgiaa Records is rapidly gaining attention for nurturing genre-defying, emotionally honest artists like Dane and Riaan, signaling a new movement within Korea’s modern music landscape. Their mission is rooted in elevating next-gen voices without compromise to musical authenticity.

With this major step onto the Grammy stage, Dane not only expands his own global visibility but also proves K-R&B’s ability to cross linguistic and cultural boundaries. His ReImagined performance is now available for viewing on the Recording Academy’s official platforms.
