Oh My Ghost Clients: MBC Introduces a Bold New Fantasy Drama Tackling Labor Rights Through Supernatural Comedy
MBC’s upcoming supernatural workplace drama, Oh My Ghost Clients, is set to premiere on May 30th, and fans are already buzzing over its recently released highlight reel.
Directed by renowned filmmaker Yim Soon-rye of Forever the Moment and Bargaining, this series marks her first foray into television. The show is also penned by Kim Bo-tong (D.P.) and Yoo Seung-hee (I Can Speak), raising expectations for a bold mix of genre-defying storytelling, humor, and poignant social critique.
Oh My Ghost Clients follows Jung Kyung-ho as No Mu-jin, a broke and bumbling labor attorney who can communicate with spirits. Moonlighting in various jobs just to stay afloat, he narrowly escapes death and signs a mysterious pact with an enigmatic figure played by Tang Jun-sang. Soon, Mu-jin begins receiving clients from beyond the grave—spirits of workers who died under unjust circumstances.
He forms a unique team called “Mujins”, with Seol In-ah as his bold sister-in-law and Cha Hak-yeon as an eccentric content creator. Together, this misfit crew uncovers real-world working class issues, shedding light on emotionally charged labor stories that hit close to home.
The storyline cleverly blends laughter and tears, creatively targeting vast social issues through ghostly tales. Mu-jin’s personal growth unfolds as he begins to understand and empathize with the stories of workers past and present, turning from a money-hungry cynic into an advocate for invisible voices of society.
The highlight reel reveals captivating cameos from heavy-hitters like Moon So-ri, Jin Seon-kyu, Kim Dae-myung, Park Won-sang, Kyung Soo-jin, and more. With stellar performances anticipated, these guest appearances may become as unforgettable as the main cast.
Whether you’re here for the supernatural antics or social realism, Oh My Ghost Clients is sure to deliver both spine-tingling and soul-stirring television. Catch the premiere on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) this May 30 at 9:50 PM KST.
