K-pop Rising Stars NEWBEAT Showcase Bold Visuals and Aspirations in at STYLE Pictorial

NEWBEAT members share emotions and vision in their debut editorial and interview with at STYLE

NEWBEAT, the fresh-faced K-pop septet comprising Park Minseok, Hong Minsung, Jeon Yeoyeojeong, Choi Seohyun, Kim Taeyang, Jo Yunhu, and Kim Riwoo, recently stunned fans with a brand-new pictorial and interview featured in the June issue of at STYLE.

Styled in effortlessly clean denim, the members exuded vibrant charm and a cool visual synergy. Huddled together in warm proximity, their natural and refined presence captured attention, blending youthful energy with glimpses of maturity.

Since releasing their debut full-length album RAW AND RAD in March, NEWBEAT has been on a mission to establish their distinct musical identity in the competitive K-pop landscape.

Park Minseok described the album as “an honest representation of raw emotions and youthful ambition,” adding, “We wanted to express our musical palette through diverse genres and bold experimentation.” Despite their impact, the group admits that their debut still feels surreal.

Reflecting on their appearance at a major event in Seoul, Choi Seohyun shared, “Performing on such a big stage made it really hit me — this is our real debut.” Kim Riwoo emphasized that fan support brings their experience to life: “When we hear their cheers, that’s when it truly feels real.”

The group also peeled back the layer on their powerful title track Flip the Coin, especially the significance of the prominent horn motif. Park Minseok explained, “The horn symbolizes the duality of the song’s theme — a blend of devilish allure and playful gameboy charisma.”

Jeon Yeoyeojeong and Jo Yunhu added, “It represents internal wounds, growth, and difference — it’s a recurring symbol in our narrative world. Each album will evolve this meaning further.”

As for their dreams, the members shone with ambition. “NEWBEAT will be a team that defines itself with its own colors,” said Park Minseok. Hong Minsung expressed his vision of becoming a global group, while Kim Taeyang confidently declared, “We’re aiming for the Rookie of the Year award.” Jeon Yeoyeojeong summed it up philosophically: “We want to move people with sincere performances.”
