High Boys Bring K-Drama Magic to M Countdown with ‘Resident Playbook’ OST

High Boys and TXT members deliver live stage of Resident Playbook OST When That Day Comes on M Countdown

The fictional K-pop boy band High Boys, formed through the hit tvN series Resident Playbook, is taking its onscreen popularity into real-life performances. The group is scheduled to hit the stage on Mnet’s M Countdown on June 22 at 6 PM KST, delivering a powerful performance of their breakout track, ‘When That Day Comes’, the official OST of the drama.

High Boys consists of seven members: UMJAY, TOPKEY, D.I, LEEHO, MILLION, JUNHEE, and SUNGTAN. Known for its dynamic trio of main vocalists—UMJAY, TOPKEY, and D.I—the group was originally conceptualized as an idol band that debuted back in 2011 within the narrative of Resident Playbook. Actor Kang You-Seok, who plays the character Eom Jae-il, leads the group alongside K-pop stars Soobin and Yeonjun from TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT).

The track ‘When That Day Comes’ encapsulates the effervescent feelings of youthful love, set against a lively guitar riff backdrop. Initially a fictional hit single within the storyline, it quickly became a real-world sensation upon release. The OST entered major Korean music platforms like Melon‘s Top 100 and its teaser video soared to the No.1 spot on YouTube Korea’s trending chart.

Kang You-Seok has gone beyond just lending his voice to this project. Teaming up with TXT’s Soobin and Yeonjun, he has earned praise not only for their vocal contribution but also for their dedication to choreography and music show appearances. The M Countdown stage will mark Kang’s first-ever music show appearance, and inside sources say he has been intensively preparing to deliver a flawless performance.

As Resident Playbook bids farewell with its final episode on June 18, fans can find comfort in the High Boys’ upcoming live broadcast. Their performance promises to capture the vibrant energy portrayed in the drama, offering a final celebratory moment for both fans of the show and K-pop lovers alike.
