Joo Woo-jae and 10CM Reveal the Lighthearted Origins of Their Viral Dance Challenge

South Korean entertainer Joo Woojae and singer 10CM reveal heartfelt origins of dance collab

South Korean model and television personality Joo Woo-jae recently became a trending name in the K-pop world thanks to his viral challenge video for singer 10CM‘s hit track ‘I’m Coming to You (너에게 닿기를)’. The behind-the-scenes story of this unexpected collaboration was unveiled in a YouTube episode of Today’s Joo Woojae, released on April 16.

The episode, titled ‘Eventually, it reached the music shows (결국 음방까지 닿아버렸습니다)’, showcased a candid and humorous conversation between Joo Woo-jae and 10CM. Joo began by thanking 10CM, jokingly saying, “You made me a star with this challenge.” He explained that they didn’t do much formal filming during the initial challenge shoot, which left fans asking for a behind-the-scenes look.

Curious about how the collaboration came to life, Joo asked, “Why did you even ask me to join this challenge in the first place?” 10CM chuckled and replied honestly, “I didn’t expect much. I just thought the height difference between us would be funny. I wasn’t hoping you’d change my life.”

Joo laughed and admitted, “So many idols had already done this challenge. When you reached out, I thought maybe you didn’t like me.” 10CM added to the humor by revealing, “Actually, it wasn’t even my idea—it was the staff’s. At first, I was like, ‘He’s doing it too?’”

Despite their low expectations, the duo was pleased with how quickly the short-form content was produced and uploaded. “We only shot for about 30 minutes,” Joo said, “but it went online the very next day. I love how fast the results came out.”

This easygoing, spur-of-the-moment collaboration has since captured the attention of fans worldwide, blending humor, music, and viral culture into one unexpectedly powerful online moment.
