Hyungwon of Monsta X Reunites with Fans through Heartfelt Military Discharge Event
Monsta X’s Hyungwon has officially returned from his mandatory military service — and he’s wasting no time reconnecting with his beloved fans, Monbebes. On June 17, the K-pop star is holding two free fan events titled ‘Hyungwon’s Greenhouse (Wonder Garden)’ at Myeonghwa Live Hall in Seoul, with sessions at 1 PM and 5 PM.
According to his agency Starship Entertainment, the event sold out immediately, despite being entirely free, signaling the massive anticipation surrounding Hyungwon’s comeback. Having completed 18 months of service on June 13, the performer is meeting fans just four days after his discharge.
Much like fellow Monsta X members Minhyuk, Joohoney, and Kihyun who hosted similar events upon their return, Hyungwon followed suit, showcasing his deep affection for fans. Hyungwon personally curated every detail of the event — from the title to the overall experience — ensuring this was more than just a fan meet: it’s a sanctuary for healing and gratitude.
The artist, known for his calm charisma and thoughtful communication style, was previously adored as “Chae-DJ” (Chae Hyungwon + DJ) during his tenure as the host of MBC FM4U’s Idol Radio Season 2. That signature warmth is expected to shine once again at the event, where Hyungwon plans to read letters from fans received through the global platform Berriz, sharing in-depth, emotional conversations directly with supporters.
Debuting with Monsta X on May 14, 2015, Hyungwon quickly captivated audiences with his stunning visuals, elegant dance lines, and rich vocal tone. Over the years, he solidified his position not only as a singer and dancer but also as a producer, DJ, and entertainer — truly earning the label of a “complete performer.”
Fans are especially curious about what surprises Hyungwon has in store, especially after his remark during a YouTube livestream on the day of his discharge, where he hinted at showcasing “many new sides” during the fan event.
Meanwhile, Monsta X recently celebrated their 10th debut anniversary as a full six-member group. To commemorate the milestone, the band is scheduled to hold the much-anticipated concert ‘2025 Monsta X Connect: X’ from July 18 to 20 at the Olympic Park KSPO Dome in Seoul.
