Seventeen Unveils Immersive Highlights of 5th Album ‘Happy Burst Day’ with VR Experience
Global K-pop sensation Seventeen has set the stage for their official comeback with a powerful taste of their 5th full-length album, Happy Burst Day. On June 16 at 10 PM KST, the group dropped a highlight medley video via the HYBE Labels YouTube channel, offering fans a first-of-its-kind immersive VR experience.
Designed from the perspective of their fandom CARAT, the medley invites fans to dive into Seventeen’s transformation and celebration of growth. It features a 360-degree VR environment coupled with 8D audio, creating a hyperrealistic experience that puts fans at the heart of the action.
The spotlight is firmly on THUNDER, the album’s title track. Lyrics like “Ring ring from my friends, and from inspiration too” and “Rising up like a flash of thunder” showcase the explosive energy and catchy vibe the track brings. Its EDM-infused dance-pop sound underlines the group’s signature dynamic performances and bold ambition to innovate and connect globally through music.
Another group track, HBD (Happy Birthday), features a rugged rock sound that encapsulates the fierce rebirth of Seventeen, while hitting vocal performances amplify their renewed intensity.
Bad Influence, created in collaboration with legendary producer Pharrell Williams, blends uptempo drum beats and deep 808 bass lines, capturing a confident and liberating mood.
The album also boasts a range of solo tracks emphasizing the individual artistry of each member. Joshua brings warm vibes with Fortunate Change, while June (Jun) touches the heart with an emotional yet energetic track Gemini. Sungkwan delivers powerful sentiment with Raindrops.
Wonwoo goes fresh and band-driven in 99.9%, while Dokyeom (DK) warms listeners with an acoustic-led ballad Happy Virus. Vernon reveals his trendy and refreshing side with Shining Star.
Hoshi partnered with iconic producer Timberland for a sensuous solo, Damage (feat. Timberland). Dino brings a modern R&B twist to early 2000s hip-hop sounds in Trigger. Woozi embraces a lyrical ballad in Fate, Jeonghan sings of dreamy encounters in Coincidence, and The8 (Dino) unveils haunting beauty in Skyfall.
Mingyu goes groovy and electronic with Shake It Off, while S.Coups drops fierce confidence in Jungle with lyrics like “10 years strong in Gen-3.”
Pledis Entertainment described the highlight medley as a tribute to Seventeen’s ongoing evolution, urging fans to explore a space where anyone can transform through challenges. “Watching with a VR headset enhances immersion,” the company noted.
Seventeen’s highly-anticipated album Happy Burst Day officially drops on June 26 at 6 PM KST. Ahead of the release, a massive offline event, B-DAY PARTY, will be held in celebration of the group’s 10th debut anniversary from June 23 to 25 across Sebitseom and Submerged Bridge in Seoul.
