Ko So-young Opens Up About Her Eating Habits: ‘I’ve Never Skipped a Meal in My Life’

In a new episode of her YouTube channel, ‘Just Ko So-young’, Korean actress Ko So-young gave fans a candid look at her everyday eating habits—revealing that she’s never followed a strict diet or skipped a single meal in her life.

The video, titled “Ko So-young’s Soju Recipe Reveal (Cures Hangovers While You Drink)”, uploaded on June 15, features the star enjoying samgyeopsal (pork belly BBQ) at her favorite local restaurant with her production staff. In the video, Ko brought her own mix of soju and freshly squeezed lemon juice, openly enjoying both the food and drinks with her crew.

During the meal, a staff member asked if she had ever gone through a structured dietary routine. The actress laughed and replied, “Not once. I’ve never dieted, and I’ve never gone a single day without eating a full meal. Honestly, I don’t have that kind of self-control.” She added that many people in the industry are surprised by how well she eats, saying, “I’ve been told I’m the only actress who eats like this.”

Ko also shared a funny behind-the-scenes story from commercial shoots, comparing her eating habits to her husband’s: “While my husband won’t touch anything when we’re on set, I eat everything. I once shot an ad in a tight-fitting dress with a full belly and simply asked them to fix it in Photoshop!”

Reflecting on her current habits, Ko said she now makes slight adjustments due to age, primarily controlling carbohydrate intake. “I still eat everything I want,” she noted. “I’ve just started having carbs earlier in the day, and focusing on meat and vegetables for dinner.”

In an industry often fixated on transformation, immaculate diets, and visual perfection, Ko So-young’s frankness draws admiration—for being unapologetically real, and showing that balance doesn’t have to mean denial.
