K-pop sensation Baekhyun is making a heartfelt comeback with a sweet twist. On May 15 at 6 PM (KST), Baekhyun’s agency INB100 released the pre-release single ‘Chocolate’ through major online music platforms. The track is part of his highly anticipated fifth mini album, Essence of Reverie, set for full release on May 19.

‘Chocolate’ is an infectious pop R&B track built on groovy keyboard lines and rhythmic guitar, evoking the feeling of a swing beat. The lyrics cleverly compare the sweetness of a romantic partner to chocolate, showcasing Baekhyun’s signature emotive delivery.

The upcoming mini album contains seven tracks in total: ‘Chocolate’, the title track ‘Elevator’, ‘Lemonade’, ‘Love Comes Back’, ‘No Problem’, ‘Black Dreams’, and ‘Late Night Calls’. Each track brings its own unique mood, further elevating expectations for another masterpiece in Baekhyun’s discography.

Essence of Reverie delves into Baekhyun’s inner world — a journey between reality and dreams. Expressed through introspective lyrics and sophisticated production, the album symbolizes Baekhyun’s vision for the future as an artist. Notably, Baekhyun participated in the creation of every track and collaborated with acclaimed artist Cold to create what fans are calling a “dream team” album.

Alongside the album release, Baekhyun will launch his first solo world tour titled ‘Reverie’, marking 13 years since his debut. The tour kicks off on June 7 and 8 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. Tickets for all performances sold out instantly, reaffirming his unwavering global popularity.

As a special treat before the official album drop, Baekhyun will perform the first stage of ‘Chocolate’ on KBS 2TV’s Music Bank on May 16, giving fans an early glimpse of his new musical era.
