MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation) is set to premiere its latest Friday-Saturday drama, ‘The Labor Inspector: Roh Moo-jin’, on May 30th at 9:50 PM KST. This unique fantasy action-comedy follows a labor inspector with the rare ability to see ghosts, as he resolves labor disputes and uncovers untold workplace tragedies from beyond the grave.

Helmed by renowned filmmaker Im Soon-rye in her first-ever TV directorial role, the show brings together an acclaimed creative team, including Kim Bo-tong, known for the gritty military drama D.P., and Yoo Seung-hee, co-writer of the heartfelt film I Can Speak. The production is led by Kwon Sung-chang, with Lee Han-joon co-directing under production house Broccoli Pictures.

The storyline focuses on Noh Moo-jin (played by Jung Kyung-ho), a labor inspector who teams up with his sister-in-law, Na Hee-joo (played by rising star Seol In-ah), and a quirky content creator Ko Kyun-woo (played by Cha Hak-yeon). Together, they unravel the hidden injustices of the labor world—both past and present—guided by spirits unable to rest.

Seol In-ah shared her excitement for the role, saying she was drawn to the script’s bold storytelling, the cast’s charisma, and Director Im’s compelling vision. “Hee-joo is a passionate character who confronts injustices with intuition and courage,” said Seol. She added that portraying Hee-joo’s strong-yet-relatable persona was both challenging and fulfilling, showcasing her commitment to deepening her acting range.

By blending genre elements of fantasy, mystery, and social justice, The Labor Inspector: Roh Moo-jin delivers not only thrilling ghost-chasing plotlines but also sheds light on real-world labor issues in a uniquely heartfelt and humorous way. Viewers can expect emotional depth, action-packed storytelling, and a fresh dose of supernatural justice beginning May 30th on MBC.
