K-Pop Star IU to Release Third Remake Album ‘Flower Bookmark Series’ After 8 Years

Global K-pop sensation IU is set to make her highly anticipated return with the third installment in her iconic remake album series, Flower Bookmark. According to her agency EDAM Entertainment, the album titled ‘꽃갈피 셋’ (translates as Flower Bookmark #3) will be released on May 27 at 6 PM KST.

This marks IU’s first remake project since 2017’s Flower Bookmark #2 and comes eight years after the series initially launched in 2014. Known for her deeply emotional delivery and lyrical voice, the Flower Bookmark series has allowed IU to breathe new life into timeless Korean classics, resonating with fans across generations.

The album’s nostalgic concept is reflected in its cover art, which features a vintage-inspired photo of IU leaning against a retro public phone booth, gazing into the camera. The imagery evokes the warmth and intimacy of analog memories, perfectly aligning with the album’s sentimental theme.

In past volumes of the Flower Bookmark series, IU has reinterpreted iconic tracks like “Autumn Morning,” “Meaning of You,” and “Sleepless Rainy Night,” all of which received critical acclaim for preserving the spirit of the originals while offering a fresh, IU-style rendition.

The new album follows her last mini album The Winning, released in February 2023, marking her return to the music scene after over a year. This release is expected to captivate a wide audience, intensifying anticipation among both domestic and international fans.

IU continues to be a powerhouse in both music and acting. In 2023, she held a solo concert at Sangam Stadium and was named Billboard’s Number One Korean Artist. Most recently, she gained acclaim for her double role in the Netflix global hit drama 폭싹 속았수다, further solidifying her status as a multi-talented superstar.

Flower Bookmark #3 will be available on all major streaming platforms starting May 27 at 6 PM KST.
