Jeong Se-woon Returns with Deepened Artistry and Emotion in New EP ‘Brut’
K-pop singer-songwriter Jeong Se-woon is making a soulful comeback with his brand-new EP, Brut, set to release on June 15 at 6 PM KST through major digital music platforms.
Brut encapsulates Se-woon’s honest reflections and artistic growth, marking his first musical release since joining CAM, and his latest project following his 2023 mini album Quiz. The new EP is already garnering enthusiastic reactions from fans eagerly awaiting his evolved sound.
The title track, Goodbye, explores the pain and peace of letting go of a lonely relationship, showcasing Jeong Se-woon’s matured vocals. Produced by Guaka, the track delivers both emotional depth and modern musicality.
Other notable tracks on the EP include Eternally, which drew praise after the pre-released music video for its distinct musical tone, and Lake, a rhythmically pleasing easy-listening song. Produced by the up-and-coming producer IOAH, Lake adds a layer of freshness and sophisticated sentiment to the album.
The album also features two acoustic tracks: To an Ordinary Day, balancing acoustic guitar and keys, and Together, a dreamy and richly orchestrated tune that offers comforting warmth through melodic humming and soft arrangements.
Showcasing his deepened musical capabilities, Jeong Se-woon took on the lyrics for all five tracks on the album and also contributed to composition and arrangement, further expanding the scale and sensitivity of his artistry. His collaboration with trendsetting producers like Guaka and IOAH hints at an exciting new musical direction for the artist.
The artist has built anticipation for the EP by teasing content through official social media channels, including trailer videos and concept photos. Pre-orders for Brut begin on June 15 at 2 PM KST on various online music retail sites.
To celebrate the new release, Jeong Se-woon will also host an intimate small-theater concert series titled Bittersweet from June 5 to 15 at the Ewha Womans University ECC Youngsan Theater, performing eight shows and continuing his active engagement with fans.
