BOYNEXTDOOR Embraces Limitless Sound in New EP ‘No Genre’

Kpop group BOYNEXTDOOR returns with their fourth EP No Genre breaking musical boundaries

BOYNEXTDOOR (Sungho, Riwoo, Myung Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, Woonhak), one of K-pop’s fastest-rising groups, is making their much-anticipated comeback with their 4th mini album ‘No Genre’, set for release on June 13 at 6 PM KST. The album boldly declares the group’s artistic intent: to free themselves from the constraints of traditional genres and deliver music rooted in pure emotion and lived experiences.

True to its name, ‘No Genre’ showcases a kaleidoscope of styles. Leading the charge is title track ‘I Feel Good’, a rock-inspired anthem brimming with high-octane energy. The album also features retro pop soul vibes in ‘123-78’, the smooth elegance of city pop in ‘Step By Step’, the funky rhythms of ‘Jangnanchyeo?’, and the house-infused beats of ‘Next Mistake’. Altogether, the release packs seven tracks into a cohesive, thrilling journey through the band’s expanded soundscape.

BOYNEXTDOOR continues to prove their artistic chops, not only through performance but also songwriting. Members Myung Jaehyun, Taesan, and Woonhak actively contributed to the album’s creation, further refining the group’s distinct voice in K-pop’s ever-evolving landscape. Their ability to reinterpret everyday emotions into captivating, genre-fluid music reinforces their identity as relatable storytellers.

Already earning a reputation for ‘lifestyle-infused music,’ BOYNEXTDOOR’s ‘I Feel Good’ lyrics tap into raw and relatable feelings. Early snippets featuring lines like “Make you frown” and “Crash into madness” have ignited fan excitement for the complete release. Known for their use of handheld mics since debut, the group continues to heighten emotional connection with fans through intimate and expressive live performances.

The anticipation for this comeback peaked during their teaser at KCON JAPAN 2025 on June 10, where they briefly performed the chorus of ‘I Feel Good’. The group confidently proclaimed: “We promise this album will blow your mind. We’re coming back with a stage you won’t forget.”

BOYNEXTDOOR’s success trajectory has been nothing short of meteoric. From their debut EP ‘WHY..’ selling over 302,000 units on day one (Hanteo Chart), to ‘HOW?’ reaching 390,709 sales, and breakout mini album ‘19.99’ surpassing 600,000 copies—with their first “million-seller” milestone achieved as per YG PLUS (October 16, 2024) and a Billboard 200 entry at No. 40—the group has continually outgrown expectations.

Their digital single ‘Only Today I LOVE YOU’, released this January, further amplified their dominance, grabbing No. 4 on Melon’s Top 100 the very next day, and maintaining a No. 1 streak on Apple Music Korea’s Top 100 for 37 consecutive days. ‘No Genre’ is poised to continue this explosive momentum.

As one of this generation’s most promising acts, BOYNEXTDOOR are carving their path not by following trends—but by setting them.
