K-pop Sensation ITZY Announces June Comeback with ‘Girls Will Be Girls’
Global K-pop star ITZY is officially making a much-anticipated return with their upcoming album Girls Will Be Girls, scheduled to drop on June 9 at 6 PM KST. The news, confirmed by JYP Entertainment on May 12 via official social media channels, has sent fans into a frenzy as the group embarks on their first major comeback of 2025.
The announcement came with a striking trailer video that feels more like a mini-film. The storyline follows the ITZY members on a gripping journey to bring member Ryujin‘s frozen heart back to life. Renowned commercial director Yook Gwang-hyung masterfully orchestrated the trailer in a dramatized, film-like narrative format that has already captivated global audiences.
A major surprise element in the trailer is the appearance of JYP founder and producer J.Y. Park. He plays a quirky but impactful role, appearing early on with a classic cassette player, standing in front of a dramatically transformed Ryujin with her new short haircut. The trailer further showcases the stunning visuals and acting chops of fellow members Yeji, Lia, Chaeryeong, and Yuna. Their delicate yet powerful performance is harmonized with exquisite choreography, setting a high expectation for the upcoming release.
Accompanying the video, JYP Entertainment also released a detailed comeback scheduler. It begins on May 26 with the album’s tracklist reveal, followed by concept photos dropping from May 27–30. Fans can look forward to an album spoiler on June 2 and music video teasers plus promotional visuals on June 4 and 6. All of this paves the way for a special comeback countdown live event slated for June 9 at 5 PM KST, just an hour before the official release.
With Girls Will Be Girls, ITZY continues to redefine global K-pop, showcasing both individual member growth and synchronized group artistry. One thing is for certain—the countdown to their grand return has officially begun.
