BTS’s Jin Captivates Fans with Heartwarming Gestures on Netflix Variety Show

BTS member Jin surprises Netflix variety show cast with coffee and shines in godlike costume

On June 11, the 13th episode of Netflix’s original variety show “Doraiver: In Search of the Lost Screw” aired, featuring BTS’s Jin as a special guest, and the internet lit up with praise. In the episode titled “With the Gods,” Jin appeared dressed in sleek black with white wings, portraying Eros—the god of love and beauty.

He made a touching impression from the outset, stating he chose the show because it was “the most popular right now,” humbling the cast and crew. The show’s producers later revealed that Jin had personally purchased 70 cups of coffee for the entire production team and cast, a gesture that deeply moved everyone on set.

During the episode, subtitles like “Shout out to God Seokjin” and “Why are you making our hearts flutter?” flashed across the screen, reflecting the audience’s emotional response.

Known for his humility, Jin downplayed his generous gesture, stating, “While it was my idea and I did pay, I couldn’t have done it without the support of my company.” Fellow cast member Joo Woo-jae responded in awe, “Even this is cool. He totally knows what he’s doing.”

Jin’s arrival was dramatically captured, eliciting fanfare from the cast who remarked, “It’s like a painting,” and “If there is a god, it must resemble this.”

This latest appearance solidifies Jin’s reputation as an all-around entertainer, following strong reviews from another hit Netflix variety show, “Daehwanjang Gianjang.”

Outside the spotlight, Jin’s generosity continues to shine. After wrapping up filming on Ulleung Island for “Daehwanjang Gianjang,” he gifted premium squid sets to 110 staff members—fully paid out of his own pocket—an act that was shared on social media.

MBC’s PD Kim Myung-jin from the variety show “Pookdahaeng” shared that Jin actively joined post-filming get-togethers and even secretly paid for the entire gathering.

The singer is also a decorated former soldier, known as a model recruit with early promotions. His emotional final day in the Army, where fellow soldiers tearfully bid farewell, went viral. Remarkably, just two months after discharge, Jin returned to his unit to surprise his comrades again.

In another act of selflessness, Jin was recently spotted serving meals quietly in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province—an area affected by wildfires—where he wore a mask and apron, avoiding recognition until locals discovered who he was.

For Children’s Day on May 5, Jin donated 100 million KRW to help children battling illness. Earlier in January, he contributed another 100 million KRW to Korea University Medical Center to support treatment for children in underdeveloped countries with rare diseases.

His consistent giving earned him a spot in UNICEF’s Honours Club last year, a prestigious circle of major donors. Jin agreed to the public disclosure of his membership, believing “good influence grows when shared.”

Jin also supports animal rights organizations like KARA and Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE), continuously using his platform for meaningful impact. Inspired by his actions, countless global fans have followed suit, volunteering and donating in his name, proving Jin’s gentle influence helps shape a better world.
