Talk Pa One 25 o’clock Explores Gauguin’s World and Star Wars Surprises
From Van Gogh’s Shadows to Star Wars Spotlight
On May 12, JTBC’s Talk Pa One 25 o’clock will take its viewers on a cultural and culinary adventure, blending the elegance of French art with high-end Japanese cuisine and sci-fi flair.
Tracing Gauguin in France
The first journey whisks audiences away to Pont-Aven, France, during the ‘Talk Explorer Life’ segment. There, the program follows in the footsteps of Gauguin, showcasing the village that inspired his masterpieces. During a previously recorded session, a local correspondent shared an anecdote about how Gauguin and van Gogh once argued until dawn due to their conflicting visions of art—an insight that captivated both cast and viewers alike.
The immersive visuals featured scenery echoing directly from Gauguin’s paintings. Witnessing these firsthand thrilled the panel. An offhand comment by a narrator suggesting that one panelist, a host, was a successor in the Gauguin-Matisse line prompted cast member Lee Chan-won to crack, “Gauguin–Matisse–him?” with bemused laughter.
Tokyo’s Culinary Gems and Jedi Skills
The second leg led viewers to Tokyo. Cast members took up roles as field correspondents, diving into the world of exquisite Japanese dishes. The highlight was a premium sea urchin delicacy that left Lee Chan-won awestruck and hungry just looking at it.
Meanwhile, Star Wars fans were in for a treat. In a Star Wars celebration segment, guests donned Yoda costumes and engaged in lightsaber training. Host’s clumsy saber skills had Lee roaring with laughter. Later on, the team surprises viewers by meeting actor Lee Dong-hwi and teasing an upcoming exclusive interview with Diego Luna, star of the Star Wars spinoff Andor.
The episode airs May 12 at 8:50 PM KST on JTBC.
