Go Yoon-jung and Jung Joon-won Ignite Romance in ‘Resident Playbook’

Romantic moment unfolds as Go Yoonjung and Jung Joonwon confess their love in Resident Playbook

tvN’s Weekend Drama Resident Playbook took a romantic turn in its latest episode aired on the 10th, as viewers witnessed sparks fly between Koo Do-won (played by Jung Joon-won) and Oh Yi-young (played by Go Yoon-jung).

After completing a bank inquiry, Oh Yi-young ran into Koo Do-won, who handed her some bread saying, “My sister-in-law loves soboro bread. I can’t make it home today, could you make the delivery?” Mistaking the gesture as a gift for herself, Oh Yi-young replied, “I love soboro too. Even more than your sister-in-law,” unable to hide her disappointment.

Realizing the misunderstanding, Koo Do-won tried to cheer her up with the promise of future treats. “I’ll buy you one next time,” he said. But Oh Yi-young teasingly responded, “You always say ‘next time’—it’s just talk, isn’t it? You forgot again, right?”

Then, unexpectedly, Koo Do-won asked, “Would you like to have dinner with me tomorrow at 9?” Caught off guard in the sweetest way, Oh Yi-young quickly responded, “Yes!” Her elated imagination ran wild, leaving Koo Do-won smiling.

In preparation for the date, Koo Do-won made restaurant reservations, purchased flowers, and even tried to use his credit card—which he, unfortunately, forgot. The romantic plans quickly unraveled: a delivery mishap ruined the flower bouquet, and the restaurant had mistakenly booked his reservation for the wrong day. Defeated, he canceled the date using a last-minute excuse, leaving Oh Yi-young disappointed.

Later, the two crossed paths at a playground near her home, beginning an awkward conversation. Oh Yi-young asked candidly, “Did you lie because you didn’t want to eat with me? I was really looking forward to it… because it was with someone I like.”

Feeling guilty, Koo Do-won explained the situation in detail, offering the remaining truth. “This is all I have left… but I really like you, Oh Yi-young,” he confessed shyly. Stunned, she replied, “You like me?” overcome with emotion.

“Is this your confession? I’ve confessed so many times already. You don’t even have to say it,” she added while hugging him tightly. The newly official couple shared a sweet moment, holding hands in the elevator on their way back up.

Just then, Koo Do-won realized his brother and sister-in-law were out of town, and he used the excuse of needing to work on a medical thesis to return to the hospital quickly. Oh Yi-young offered him a ride and kissed him on the cheek. As the elevator doors closed once more, Koo Do-won surprised her with a kiss—marking the beautiful beginning of their romance.
