Korean Businessman and Hellbound Star Choi Si-hoon Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Trolls
Choi Si-hoon, businessman and the husband of singer Ailee, has initiated firm legal action in response to a growing wave of online defamation and abuse. The former Netflix Hellbound cast member posted an official statement from his legal representatives at The Alpha Law Firm on his personal social media accounts on June 10.
The statement revealed that Choi’s legal team is taking aggressive civil and criminal steps against individuals spreading false and harmful information. “We are currently undergoing legal proceedings against those involved in illegal and malicious online behavior targeted at our client,” said the law firm. “There has been a serious spread of false narratives and defamatory content about Choi Si-hoon on various online platforms including DC Inside, Daum Cafe, Naver, FM Korea, Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).”
The legal team further emphasized that they are collecting digital evidence through ongoing monitoring and collaborating with local authorities to identify the offenders. “To protect the client’s rights and reputation, we will not hesitate to take all possible legal actions without delay,” the firm warned.
This move follows a similar stance taken by Choi’s wife, renowned K-pop artist Ailee. Her agency, A2Z Entertainment, announced on June 7 that it would be taking legal measures against malicious posts and comments targeting the singer. “We will not tolerate any form of slander, defamation, or distribution of false information. There will be no leniency or settlements in legal procedures,” the agency stated firmly.
Choi Si-hoon, who shifted from acting to entrepreneurship, initially gained public attention through Netflix’s reality show Hellbound. He recently tied the knot with Ailee in a private ceremony in Gangnam, Seoul on May 20.
If you encounter any defamatory content related to Choi Si-hoon online, his legal team urges you to report it by emailing screenshots and URL links to facilitate enforcement action.
