Blackpink’s Rosé Shines in the Emotional New Track ‘Messy’ for Upcoming F1 Movie
Blackpink’s Rosé is stepping into the cinematic spotlight with a powerful performance in her latest solo track “Messy,” which is part of the official soundtrack for the upcoming film F1 (the movie). Released on July 9 by Warner Music Korea, the emotionally charged ballad showcases Rosé’s expressive vocals, further cementing her versatility as an artist beyond the K-pop scene.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on Top Gun: Maverick, F1 follows the story of veteran driver Sonny Hayes (played by Brad Pitt) as he mentors rising racer Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) in a high-stakes comeback effort for a struggling Formula 1 team. The high-octane film is slated for release next month.
The music video for “Messy,” unveiled alongside the track, offers a cinematic preview of Rosé in solitude, walking down an empty road and performing with raw emotion at a piano. Her poignant delivery aligns perfectly with the film’s themes of loss, determination, and redemption.
“Messy” will also be featured on the full soundtrack F1 THE ALBUM, dropping globally on July 27. The album boasts a star-studded lineup including Korean-born DJ Peggy Gou, global pop icon Ed Sheeran, rappers Don Toliver and Roddy Ricch, Grammy winner Burna Boy, and legendary producer Tiësto. With a total of 17 tracks, the album is expected to be as dynamic as the movie it’s tied to.
Rosé’s addition to the project signals not only her continued global influence but also shines a spotlight on the expanding collaboration between K-pop and Hollywood cinema.
