Minho Reflects on Emotional Journey as Do Ba-woo in ‘Something Went Wrong’
Minho, renowned K-pop star and actor, recently shared his reflections following the finale of the web drama Something Went Wrong. Concluding with its 8th episode on June 8, this emotional youth romance drama captivated fans with its intimate portrayal of love and personal growth. Based on the webtoon spin-off of It’s Popular, But Something Went Wrong, the series followed the poignant story of two friends rediscovering long-lost feelings.
Portraying Do Ba-woo, a political science freshman silently in love with his childhood friend Ji-hoon, Minho delivered a nuanced performance filled with emotional depth. Speaking about the role, he reflected, “Do Ba-woo is the complete opposite of me—he’s someone who feels deeply rather than speaks. I tried to immerse myself by recalling painful memories and past emotions.”
One of his most memorable scenes involved the line, “You have no idea how many times I’ve imagined this moment,” capturing Ba-woo’s repressed heartache. His depiction of the character’s psychological changes earned admiration from viewers and critics alike.
Post-finale, Minho shared, “Even though we’ve wrapped, it doesn’t really feel over. Thanks to the incredible crew on set, we were able to complete it in the best way.” He further described the filming environment as warm and familial—despite winter’s chill—and appreciated the time rehearsing with fellow cast members.
Expressing gratitude toward fans, Minho said, “I’ve been enjoying each day with the overwhelming support I’ve received from fans. I want to grow further and return that love through my performances.”
Viewing this project as a pivotal career moment, he added, “This was a stepping stone—my beginning. I aim to continuously evolve as an actor and take on versatile roles, whether that’s playing a villain or a character with a darker psychological edge.”
Looking ahead to 2025, Minho plans to dive deeper into his craft: “I hope to focus on more complex roles and develop my skills further so that I can bring positive energy to those watching me.” He concluded with a message to fans: “Playing Do Ba-woo in Something Went Wrong brought me happiness. Thank you for seeing past my shortcomings with kindness. I promise to keep striving forward.”
