BLACKPINK Shines at The Met’s ‘Superfine’ Gala While Teasing 2025 World Tour

BLACKPINK members Jennie Lisa Rosé attend the Superfine Tailoring Black Style gala in New York

Global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK continues to dominate the global stage, effortlessly blending fashion and music. On May 5 (local time), members Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa graced the opening night of the new exhibit at The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The exhibit, titled ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’, turned the annual gala into a celebration of individuality and tailored menswear redefined with modern flair.

Launched in 1948, this annual gala is a collaboration between The Costume Institute and Vogue Magazine, held on the first Monday of May. It’s more than a fashion event – it’s a convergence of culture, art, and style that draws international attention.

Jennie stunned in a sophisticated black off-shoulder piece, adorned with a white corsage and shimmering buttons. Her bold look featured a voluminous dress layered over tailored black pants, finished with a classic fedora. Rosé exuded polished glamour in a low-cut, blonde tuxedo-style ensemble, while Lisa delivered high-fashion shock in a sheer, no-pants look that embraced daring individuality.

This appearance follows their recent reunion at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. There, Lisa and Jennie each captivated audiences with solo performances on the Sahara and Outdoor Theater stages respectively, while Rosé cheered in support, creating a buzz among global fans.

Meanwhile, member Jisoo has been focusing on her acting career. After wrapping her role in Coupang Play’s sci-fi themed thriller ‘Newtopia’, she’s gearing up for two highly anticipated Netflix originals: ‘월간남친’ (Monthly Boyfriend) and the fantasy-action drama ‘전지적 독자 시점’ (Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint).

BLACKPINK fans have even more to be excited about — the group will reunite for their full tour, the BLACKPINK 2025 WORLD TOUR. Kicking off on July 5 and 6 with performances at the Goyang Stadium Main Stadium in South Korea, the tour is set to sweep across North America, Europe, and Japan.
