BTS’s Jungkook Breaks Spotify Records with ‘GOLDEN’ Album and ‘Seven’ Single
BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) member Jungkook has once again cemented his global superstar status by breaking multiple Spotify records with his debut solo album ‘GOLDEN’ and hit single ‘Seven’.
According to the official World Music Awards (WMA) social media account, Jungkook’s GOLDEN, released in 2023, became the most streamed album by an Asian male artist on Spotify in 2024, with a whopping 517 million streams as of May. The album has racked up an incredible 5.5 billion cumulative streams as of April 28th, 2024 (KST).
GOLDEN made history by staying on Spotify’s Weekly Global Top Song chart for a record-breaking 77 weeks—the longest for an album by an Asian solo artist. Jungkook’s dominance doesn’t stop there. Since 2022, he has consistently been the most streamed K-pop male solo artist on Spotify for four consecutive years through 2025.
Additionally, Jungkook became the first-ever K-pop solo artist to remain on the Spotify ‘Global Top Artist’ chart for 100 weeks. His solo single, Seven, also shattered multiple streaming records—earning 1 billion, 900 million, 1.1 billion and even 2.3 billion streams faster than any other Asian artist’s track in Spotify history.
Seven also set a new Spotify benchmark by charting on the Weekly Global Top Song playlist for 93 consecutive weeks—the longest ever by a song from an Asian solo artist.
Jungkook’s Spotify profile, combining all streams from various credits, has now crossed a staggering total of 8.7 billion streams, setting another milestone as the fastest and first K-pop solo artist to achieve this.
Jungkook’s groundbreaking achievements not only highlight his extraordinary popularity but also mark a pivotal point for Asian representation in global music charts.
