KPop Icons Reunite: SS501 Members Launch ‘Five O One’ for 20th Anniversary World Tour
In a major throwback for second-gen K-pop fans, members of the iconic boy band SS501—Kim Hyun-joong, Heo Young-saeng, and Kim Kyu-jong—are reuniting to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a global tour. The trio will regroup under a newly coined name, Five O One, rekindling memories from their explosive debut in 2005.
Their label Henezia shared the announcement on July 1st, stating, “This 20th-anniversary project is designed to create unforgettable memories for fans. Starting with a global tour in Seoul this July, the group plans to meet with their international fanbase.”
After the group originally disbanded in 2010, each member pursued solo careers. Their return marks a significant moment for the Hallyu wave, reconnecting one of the original K-pop sensations with a modern global audience.
This comeback isn’t just nostalgic; it’s symbolic. A teaser video released on Henezia’s official YouTube channel showcases the members alongside a heartbeat sound and the number “05:01,” sparking excitement among long-time fans. The imagery is a clear nod to SS501’s legacy and their evolution into Five O One.
SS501 first rose to fame with chart-topping hits such as “U R Man,” “Love Like This,” and the unforgettable K-drama OST “Because I’m Stupid” featured in Boys Over Flowers.
As the countdown begins for their Seoul World Tour, K-pop fans worldwide are preparing to relive the golden era of Korean pop music—this time with a twist of maturity and nostalgia only a 20-year legacy can bring.
