RIIZE Ignites Global Anticipation with Explosive ‘Bad Bad Back’ Launch Ahead of Debut Album ‘ODYSSEY’

KPop group RIIZE stuns fans with Bad Bad Back music video and Studio Choom performance

SM Entertainment’s hottest rookie boy group RIIZE is making major waves once again with the powerful launch of their pre-release track “Bad Bad Back,” signaling the official kickoff of promotions for their much-anticipated debut full-length album, ODYSSEY.

On May 1st at 6 PM (KST), the music video for “Bad Bad Back” premiered on the official SMTOWN YouTube channel, and by the following morning, it shot up to the #1 spot on YouTube Korea’s Trending for Music list. The performance is rapidly establishing RIIZE as a “one-top” contender among K-pop’s newest powerhouses.

“Bad Bad Back” is a bass-heavy and rhythmically engaging hip-hop anthem with witty musical transitions, including whisper vocals and shout-inspired lines. The lyrics metaphorically explore the ambitions of RIIZE as if essential dreams and growth as artists are packed inside their “bag,” symbolizing their journey forward together as a team.

The group’s performance—oozing with charisma and slick choreography—will be unveiled in full today at 10 PM (KST) on Mnet’s digital content brand M2’s YouTube channel Studio Choom. The highly choreographed video mirrors the track’s theme, with movements mimicking holding tote bags, crossbody packs, and backpacks—clever nods to the track’s conceptual roots.

Leading the choreography is RIIZE member Shotaro, joined by noted dancers and choreographers including Ibada, J BLAZE, and THE BIPS. Their involvement adds depth, precision, and street-savvy energy to the performance, catching the attention of global fans.

The full album ODYSSEY, which includes 10 tracks including the title song “Fly Up,” is set for digital release across music platforms on May 19 at 6 PM (KST). Global fans are watching closely as RIIZE continues to set the tone for a bold and visionary debut year.
