Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile Returns With Dreamy Performances and New Stars
KBS 2TV’s celebrated music talk show, The Seasons: Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile, airs a new episode tonight (May 2) featuring rising and established talents under the uplifting theme of “Dream.” The star-studded guest lineup includes Kwon Jin-ah, Sara Kang, Miyao, and Jannabi.
This week’s show promises to captivate with an eclectic mix of genres—from emotionally stirring ballads to high-energy beats backed by live bands. These performances will blend seamlessly within the signature warm, musical atmosphere synonymous with Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile.
The show opens with acclaimed singer-songwriter Kwon Jin-ah, who brings her soulful, unrivaled vocals to the stage. Sharing a touching anecdote from her first encounter with Park Bo-gum, she recalls, “He gave off this aura like he carried a reflector board,” eliciting laughter and nods from the audience. Bo-gum, revealing his genuine admiration, unexpectedly requested a live rendition of one of her deeper cuts, leaving Kwon pleasantly surprised by his in-depth knowledge of her discography.
Adding new flavor to the format, the show debuts a fresh segment titled “Starry Night”, personally named by Park Bo-gum. This intimate new corner is dedicated to introducing untold musical gems never before featured on “The Seasons.” The first guest to christen the segment is Sara Kang, a Korean-American singer-songwriter based in New York. Flying in just for the show, her emotional backstory leads her to shed tears on set, sharing the heartfelt reason behind her decision to appear.
During the emotional segment, Kang humorously added, “I promised my husband I wouldn’t fall in love with Park Bo-gum… but I think I broke that promise,” bringing laughter to the set while offering a short apology onscreen.
Also making a memorable return is Choi Jung-hoon of Jannabi, in a reunion that brought roaring cheers from the crowd. Reflecting on their newly released fourth studio album, Choi shared insights into the creative process and noted that the title track features aespa Karina, saying, “There was no other choice but Karina.” Reacting with playful jealousy, Bo-gum hinted at his hopes of collaborating with the band in the future, a wish solidified with a pinky promise on stage.
First-time talk show guests Miyao also make a dazzling appearance, with Ella—its youngest member and a former child model—revealing she shares a debut year with Park Bo-gum. The heartwarming moment culminated in a friendly handshake that instantly lit up the studio. Adding to the excitement, Park Bo-gum joins Miyao on piano for a heartfelt live performance that’s bound to be a highlight of the episode.
The Seasons: Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile continues its tradition of beautifully blending music and meaningful stories. Airing tonight at 10 PM KST on KBS 2TV, this week’s lineup marks another unforgettable chapter in Korean music television.
